Autumn is upon us
With the days getting shorter and the leaves starting to
fall, The Castle prepares itself for the Autumn Season. With only a month to go
before we close, we are excited to be hosting a fabulous Michaelmas Harvest Day
on Sunday 1st October. You will be able to sample delicious local
produce, from chutneys and cider to chocolate and ice cream, whilst your
children have a go at decorating cupcakes*. There will be musical
performances to enjoy and even a Morris Dancing display!
Our Inner Bailey will be transformed into a mini farmyard
with Dexter cows and pigmy goats and gorgeous little piglets, which you can pet
to your hearts content. Step into the Great Hall, and you will discover our
exquisite Costume Exhibition, with Tudor Royalty on had to explain the history
behind each dress.
If you are looking for something ‘spooky’ to do during the
October half term, then look no further.
Between Sunday 22nd and Wednesday 25th October,
the Castle will be transformed into a Halloween Fun House with pumpkin
carving*, witches and wizards lurking in our dungeons, and marshmallow toasting
in our Wild Play area. From Monday 23rd to Wednesday 25th
October, you will have the opportunity to meet some spectacular owls in our
Great Hall – not to be missed!
Enjoy our late closing time of 7pm with a Halloween treat at
our Snack Shack, with warming pumpkin soup and hot dogs on the menu.
*activities at a small cost
